People are mostly into this neo-noir, and Colin Farrell's charismatic turn as the good-hearted detective John Sugar is the main reason. He's got the star power to carry the sunny LA mystery, and the show looks fantastic. The story gets a mixed bag, though, with some finding it a bit derivative and the pacing uneven. A few supporting characters, like Raymond Lee's Ji Moon and Tony Dalton's Vega, didn't land for a lot of viewers, but Farrell's performance keeps it compelling.
