The Real Review
Mortal Shell II's high-stakes action RPG combat is what really hooks people, with the Shell possession mechanic and weapons feeling fantastic. The problem is that the game can be brutally unforgiving, and technical performance on PC and Xbox is a major letdown, with players reporting frequent crashes and frame drops. While the story and world are solid and the game looks great, that final boss is almost universally hated for being cheap and frustrating. It's a strong sequel from Cold Symmetry with a killer core, but its punishing difficulty and technical issues hold it back from being a must-play.
