The film
Small-town Kansas hairdresser Gail Daughtry's fiancé uses his 'celebrity sex pass' on Jennifer Aniston, prompting Gail to travel to LA with her friend Otto to find her own pass, Jon Hamm, to even the score.
People really dig the dumb-fun, high-concept comedy here, which is a solid win for director David Wain's signature style. The story of a Kansas hairdresser chasing down Jon Hamm for a revenge hookup is mostly just a vehicle for the gags, and those jokes land, with the humor and originality scoring high marks. Zoey Deutch gets credit for her committed lead performance as Gail, though the character herself doesn't seem to connect. The big sticking point is Jon Hamm's cameo, which left a lot of people cold.
