Its stunning, hypnotic visuals and original high-concept world are the clear highlights, with many giving director Agnieszka Smoczyńska credit for the bold look. But the ambitious story gets called messy and confusing, leaving some viewers cold. Noomi Rapace as the rebel Rana is a standout for those who connect, though the overall acting doesn't leave much of an impression.
