After being separated for 15 years, the Sword of Power leads Prince Adam back to Eternia, where he discovers his home shattered under the fiendish rule of Skeletor. To save his family and his world, Adam must join forces with his closest allies, Teela and Duncan/Man-At-Arms, and embrace his true destiny as He-Man — the most powerful man in the universe.

The visual spectacle and humor are the clear winners here, with most people loving the look of a shattered Eternia and finding the tone fun. Jared Leto's Skeletor lands well for many, a campy villain that fits the vibe, and Nicholas Galitzine's earnest turn as Adam embracing his destiny as He-Man gets solid marks. Where it loses people is the thin, predictable story — it's a very by-the-numbers hero's journey that feels completely unoriginal, which is the main thing holding back an otherwise decent popcorn flick.
