The film
The unforgettable, striking, and emotionally raw story of Eddie, a young bodybuilder struggling to define himself in a community with limited opportunity. Most people didn't connect with this one. It's a tough watch about a young bodybuilder, Eddie, grappling with his sexuality and faith under the thumb of his codependent mother, and the story is where it loses people, getting called emotionally flat and predictable. Brock Yurich's performance as Eddie gets a split reaction, with some finding it compelling and others not. The visuals have a few defenders, but it's not enough to salvage the bleak, downbeat tone that left many viewers cold.
