AHS Season 13 trailer assembles all-star cast of returning horrors
The trailer for "American Horror Story" Season 13 has dropped, and it's a full-blown reunion. Per Variety, the new footage teases the return of franchise icons Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, and Evan Peters.
Lange will reprise all four of her former characters, while Peters plays five and Paulson takes on six, according to the report. Ryan Murphy told Variety that actors would sometimes play two characters from different seasons in the same scene, calling the process "really fun and tricky."
TVLine's breakdown of the trailer highlights the crossover chaos. Lange's Elsa Mars from "Freak Show" welcomes viewers, while Peters' James March from "Hotel" declares it "witch-hunting season." Paulson's Cordelia Goode senses "the harbinger of our doom." The trailer also features the return of Angela Bassett as Marie Laveau, Emma Roberts as Madison Montgomery, and John Carroll Lynch as Twisty the Clown.
Murphy described the season to Entertainment Tonight as a crossover event where characters from all past seasons unite, comparing it to "'The Avengers.' They all come together to defeat the ultimate evil."
New faces joining the fray include John Waters, Paul Anthony Kelly, and Joey Pollari. TheWrap notes that the trailer also confirms returns for Kathy Bates, Gabourey Sidibe, Billie Lourd, and Frances Conroy.
"American Horror Story" Season 13 is set to premiere on September 24 on FX and Hulu.
