Alien: Isolation Mod Tools Hit Full Release After a Decade of Work

Modders can now go absolutely wild in the haunted halls of the Sevastopol station. Per PC Gamer, the OpenCAGE mod tools for Alien: Isolation have finally hit version 1.0 after almost ten years of development.

The tools, created by modder Filer and now available on Steam, reportedly support the creation of "full custom maps, missions, modes, characters, weapons, animations, sounds, models, textures, and more." He told the outlet the project has reached a point of enabling "full total conversion mods."

As a proof of concept, Filer is building a Halo-themed custom map. The demo is said to feature custom cinematics, enemies, weapons, a new map, and a custom heads-up display.

The release gives the community extensive new ways to revisit the acclaimed survival horror game. PC Gamer notes it recently won the outlet's poll for the scariest PC game.
