Pikmin 4 Switch 2 Edition Drops in November with New Dandori Academy Mode

Nintendo has locked in a November 12 release date for Pikmin 4 Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, per Eurogamer. The new version will bundle a brand new timed exam mode called Dandori Academy.

A demo for the upgraded game will be available on the Nintendo eShop starting November 2. Any progress made in that demo will carry over to the full purchase.

The Dandori Academy mode was shown during a recent Pikmin Day Direct, with one exam titled 'Gargantuan Garden' challenging players to collect gold nuggets against the clock.

The Switch 2 Edition also introduces a new feature: voice commands for Oatchi, the canine companion. Owners of the original Switch version of Pikmin 4 can purchase an upgrade pack from the eShop instead of buying the full game again.

The Direct, which Nintendo warned would contain no new game announcements, also saw Shigeru Miyamoto introduce Japanese actor Fuka Koshiba as a new series ambassador. Nintendo declared November 1 as the official Pikmin Day.
