AMC unveils new Dune Part Three sandworm popcorn buckets including a double design
AMC is bringing back its infamous sandworm popcorn buckets for Dune: Part Three. The Hollywood Reporter revealed two new designs: a Double Sandworm Collectible for two people and a solo Sandworm Thumper Collectible.
According to the outlet, both buckets will come filled with a large popcorn and will be available at AMC theaters in the U.S. and Odeon Cinemas in Europe. AMC will also sell other merch like drinkware, "mystery keychains," and a sandworm plush. The exact price will be announced later.
The Dune: Part Two bucket became a viral hit and was famously mocked in a Saturday Night Live sketch for its suggestive look. Per The Hollywood Reporter, the bucket's creator told The Wall Street Journal the innuendo "was definitely not the intent."
AMC's senior VP of food and beverage told the outlet their goal was to "exceed" fan expectations with designs "straight from the movie." /Film notes these collectible buckets typically sell for between $25 and $50.
