Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Evans Star in Netflix Thriller 'Sacrifice' Trailer
Netflix has dropped the first trailer for its upcoming satirical thriller, 'Sacrifice,' starring Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Evans. Per Collider, the film will premiere on the streamer in the U.S. and France on October 16.
Evans plays Mike Tyler, a shallow movie star attempting a comeback after a public meltdown. His plans unravel at a billionaire's environmental gala when it is stormed by Joan, played by Taylor-Joy, and her radical followers who believe in a volcanic prophecy.
The streamer describes the event as a glamorous affair that quickly devolves into a hostage crisis, forcing characters to confront their beliefs and what they're willing to sacrifice. The film blends dark comedy and suspense to satirize celebrity culture, performative activism, and elite hypocrisy.
The cast also includes Vincent Cassel as the billionaire host, Salma Hayek Pinault as his wife, and supporting roles for Ambika Mod, John Malkovich, musician Yung Lean, and singer Charli XCX. 'Sacrifice' marks the English-language directorial debut of Romain Gavras.
