BlizzCon 2026 Unveils Diablo V and StarCraft Shooter
Blizzard pulled back the curtain on its future at the BlizzCon 2026 opening ceremony, per VGC.
The headliners were two brand-new projects. The next mainline entry in the demon-slaying series, Diablo V, is currently targeting a 2029 release window. Blizzard also announced a new open-world shooter set in the StarCraft universe, which is slated to arrive even later in 2030.
Alongside these reveals, the company announced a new variant of its long-running MMO called World of Warcraft Forever. This new version will run parallel to the existing modern game and the popular World of Warcraft Classic servers.
Blizzard president Johanna Faries opened the event with a speech about the power of gaming communities. She told the audience she hoped the gathering would remind people why creativity and playing games together will "matter always."
