Witchbrook finally gets a release date after nearly a decade

The long-awaited cozy life sim Witchbrook finally has a release date. Developer Chucklefish announced it will launch on January 28, 2027, according to reports from Polygon and GameSpot.

The news came during today's Nintendo Indie World Showcase. The release marks a slight delay from a previously announced 2026 window, but it's now just a few months away.

Per Polygon, the game is set in the seaside town of Mossport, where players attend Witchbrook College to begin their magical studies. Described as "Stardew Valley with magic," gameplay involves going to class, exploring, and engaging in systems like starting a business, flying a broom, and decorating your home.

GameSpot notes the project has been in the works for about eight years, inspired by titles like Starduk Valley and Kiki's Delivery Service. The release trailer reportedly showcases isometric pixel art and various gameplay mechanics.

The game will support up to four-player co-op. It's coming to Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Windows PC.
