Clayface Rolls to $3.5M in Previews, Expands DCU's Gotham

Warner Bros.' new DC Studios horror flick, *Clayface*, soaked up $3.5 million in Thursday previews, The Hollywood Reporter notes. The studio is projecting a domestic opening between $25 million and $30 million for the film, which carries a $44 million budget.
According to /Film, the R-rated body horror movie serves as the DC Universe's first live-action look at Gotham City. The film follows actor Matt Hagen, played by Tom Rhys Harries, who turns to a scientist (Naomi Ackie) after a crime boss disfigures his face, leading to monstrous consequences.
Despite being set in Batman's city, the Caped Crusader is never seen or mentioned. Per /Film, DC Studios co-head Peter Safran confirmed Batman is active in this universe but his specific whereabouts during the film's events weren't discussed. The outlet reports the movie consciously avoids major connections to other DCU projects.
The Hollywood Reporter also tracked the expansion of the documentary *You Can See Everything*, which added $2.2 million on Thursday. Other new releases include *Wicker*, which earned $620,000 in previews, and *Klara and the Sun*, which took in $85,000.
