Cyberpunk 2077 Hits Biggest Player Peak on Steam Since Major Expansion

Cyberpunk 2077 is seeing a massive resurgence on PC, according to a report from GameSpot. The game's concurrent player count on Steam has soared to its highest level since the release of its Phantom Liberty expansion.

At the time of reporting, the game had surged to 187,215 simultaneous players on the platform. This spike follows the recent launch of the second season of the animated spin-off series, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.

The launch was paired with a substantial new update for the core game. GameSpot notes that this combination is likely the driving force behind the renewed interest from players, sending them back to the streets of Night City.

The milestone underscores the game's lasting appeal nearly six years after its initial, troubled launch. Developer CD Projekt Red continues to support the title with new content and tie-ins.
