DC Studios boss confirms meeting with Alan Ritchson for Bane and Deathstroke movie

DC Studios co-head Peter Safran has confirmed the studio has met with Alan Ritchson. The Reacher star is being considered for a role in the upcoming Bane and Deathstroke movie.
Safran told Collider they discussed a couple of things that haven't yet come to fruition. He praised Ritchson, saying there's more depth and range to the actor than people have seen so far. However, he did not clarify which specific villain role was discussed.
The meeting confirmation follows months of online rumors. In August 2026, a scooper account claimed Ritchson was in talks to play Bane. The next day, industry insider Jeff Sneider countered that Ritchson was actually being considered for Deathstroke.
According to Deadline, the film is titled 'Savage Hunters' and is in early development. Ritchson himself told Josh Horowitz in July 2026 that he had been having conversations with DC's James Gunn about a potential role.
For now, there is no official confirmation on which project or character Ritchson might join. But per Safran, the actor is definitely on DC Studios' radar.
