Emily Osment asked for intimacy coordinator due to co-star age gap

Emily Osment felt uneasy filming romantic scenes with a much younger co-star on 'Young Sheldon'. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actress, who was in her thirties when she started on the CBS show, played love interest to Montana Jordan's character, who was 18 at the time.

In a new book about the series, Osment revealed she requested an intimacy coordinator because the age difference made her uncomfortable. She described Jordan as 'a baby' and said she spoke to producer Tim Marx about getting one on set.

The book notes that while they didn't shoot explicit sex scenes, their relationship escalated in later episodes. An intimacy coordinator was brought in for those subsequent shoots, which Osment said made everything easier.

Director Alex Reid admitted in the same book that production initially 'dropped the ball' by not having a coordinator, influenced by the show's lack of graphic content. Reid shared a photo of the pair looking awkward between takes, which Osment confirmed was due to the discomfort of filming intimate moments with someone she'd just met.

Osment and Jordan now star together in the spinoff series 'Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage'.
