Holland Taylor says low pay led to her leaving Two and a Half Men

Holland Taylor is opening up about her exit from the long running CBS sitcom. Per Variety, the actress, who played Evelyn Harper for six seasons, says she was "never paid very well" on the show.
Taylor revealed the pay issue on the 'Alchemy with Anthony Mason' podcast. She claimed she was paid the same rate she had earned on a series eight years prior, and that receiving four Emmy nominations during her tenure never resulted in a raise.
After her contract ended following season six, Taylor declined to renew it. She told producers she'd return only occasionally as a guest star, a move that reportedly left them "astonished."
According to the actor, the team thought she was negotiating for more money and told her they couldn't afford it. Taylor says she responded by telling them not to bother, as she simply didn't want to continue under a full time contract. She appreciated the scheduling flexibility of guest starring instead.
Taylor added that while she loved a lot about the show, the producers were "not full of courtesies." Two and a Half Men aired for 12 seasons total, from 2003 to 2015.
