Fallout 5 Setting Will Be Affected by the Prime TV Series

Bethesda boss Todd Howard has confirmed the upcoming Fallout 5 will share a world with the popular Amazon Prime TV series. In an interview with the BBC, Howard stated the game will exist in a world "where the stories and events of the show happened or are happening." He added the developers are taking the show's continuity "into account."

This means fans of the live-action series could see familiar locations from the show appear in the new RPG, per ScreenRant. Howard noted that viewers of the TV series might not become hardcore gamers, but they will "still get to experience Fallout."

Howard's comments suggest the show's popularity will directly influence the game's lore and setting to maintain a consistent universe. However, the interview offered no details on a potential release window for Fallout 5.

The last mainline game, Fallout 4, launched in 2015. Bethesda's focus has since shifted to other projects like Starfield, which released in 2023.
