Ghost of Yotei studio Sucker Punch lays off 26 staff amid 'market challenges'

Sucker Punch Productions, the PlayStation studio behind Ghost of Yotei, has cut around two dozen jobs. According to a report from Aftermath, confirmed by IGN and Eurogamer, 26 employees were let go.
The layoffs follow the recent release of the Ghost of Yotei Complete Edition. An internal email from studio leadership, obtained by Aftermath, cited "challenges in the market" and a reassessment of staffing needs for the developer's next unannounced project as reasons for the cuts.
"We did not make this decision lightly," the email stated, per the reports. The note promised more details about the studio's future would be shared next week.
The move comes despite the commercial success of the studio's latest title. Ghost of Yotei moved over three million units in its initial weeks after launch, according to IGN and Eurogamer.
Sucker Punch employs approximately 200 people. What the team is working on next remains unknown, though the studio's statement confirms another project is in development.
