Grand Theft Auto VI preorders reportedly surpass $750 million two weeks out

According to data from analytics firm Sensor Tower reported by IGN, Grand Theft Auto VI has already generated over $750 million from preorders. The estimate covers sales for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox versions combined.
That revenue reportedly comes from roughly 7.7 million copies sold before the game's launch. Per the data, PlayStation preorders account for most of the sales, making up about 74% of the total, while Xbox comprises the remaining 26%.
The report suggests the high revenue is likely driven by players opting for the more expensive $100 Ultimate Edition. In an interview with IGN, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick said early preorders often come from the most dedicated fans, and he defended the game's pricing as a 'bargain' for the value delivered.
Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026.
