Nvidia Shows Off Subtle DLSS 5 Visuals in New Hogwarts Legacy Trailer

Nvidia has officially demonstrated its upcoming DLSS 5 technology in a new Hogwarts Legacy video, per IGN. The tech giant's AI-enhanced lighting and materials model offers a more refined visual upgrade compared to earlier, leaked versions that produced jarring, over-smoothed character models.

According to Nvidia, the update arrives in the game on November 5. The company states the technology will "enhance the lighting and materials" and use "model controls to boost environmental uplift while preserving character identity."

The report notes that DLSS 5 isn't a simple on/off switch for developers. They must fine-tune and approve the implementation to achieve the desired effect, which Nvidia claims includes more detailed shadows, upscaled textures, and sharper reflections.

Nvidia's official details confirm the feature will be available for GeForce RTX 50 Series hardware, RTX Spark PCs, and GeForce NOW Ultimate. The company also lists Hogwarts Legacy, War Thunder, and Where Winds Meet as the first three games to receive DLSS 5 support this November.
