New Game Queen's Domain Is a Direct Homage to the Classic King's Field

A new action RPG is paying direct tribute to the roots of the Soulslike genre. According to Eurogamer, the game Queen's Domain from developer Freshly Baked Games is a first-person retro-fantasy adventure that serves as an explicit homage to FromSoftware's King's Field series.

That series, which predates the studio's more famous Demon's Souls and Dark Souls franchises, is widely seen as the precursor that helped shape the modern action-RPG landscape. Eurogamer reported that after five hours of play, the outlet's writer already considers Queen's Domain a favorite game of the year, calling the homage "brilliant."
