Jalen Brunson and Dakota Johnson lead SNL season 52 host lineup
Fresh off an NBA Finals MVP win, New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson is set to host the season premiere of Saturday Night Live. The Hollywood Reporter confirms Brunson will take the stage on September 26, with the musical guest being KATSEYE.
According to TVLine, he'll be the first active NBA player to host SNL since LeBron James in 2007. The outlet notes his hosting gig follows the Knicks' first championship in 53 years.
The first month of the new season will feature some familiar faces. Dakota Johnson is booked to host on October 3, which The Hollywood Reporter notes is her third time. She'll be joined by musical guest Turnstile.
Comedian Shane Gillis will also return for his third hosting stint on October 10, with Rosalía performing as the musical guest. After a break, the show returns on Halloween with first-time host Inde Navarrette, star of 'Obsession,' and musical guest Gracie Abrams.
Both outlets report the cast will see some departures. Chloe Fineman and writer Martin Herlihy have left the show, while TVLine adds that Bowen Yang exited last season.
