Moss Developer Polyarc Games Closes Its Doors After 12 Years
Polyarc Games is ceasing operations, the studio confirmed in a LinkedIn post on September 11, 2026. The Seattle-based team behind the Moss series is shutting down after a 12-year run.
According to IGN, the company shared a farewell message, stating its time together had ended. "Working together over all of these years has been an honor," the post read. The studio also shared a list of 29 employees for other developers to consider hiring.
Polyarc's first release was the VR adventure Moss in 2018, featuring a mouse protagonist named Quill. The developer followed it with Moss: Book 2 in 2022 and a tactical spin-off, Glassbreakers: Champions of Moss, in 2023.
Just two months prior to the closure announcement, the studio released Moss: The Forgotten Relic, a non-VR version of the first two games. Polyarc's shutdown adds to a string of studio closures this year, per the report, which mentions closures at companies like PlayStation, Ubisoft, Netflix, and Microsoft.
