Netflix's WW2 Epic 'The Mosquito Bowl' Sets Theatrical Release
Netflix has set a theatrical release date for its upcoming World War II epic, per Collider.
Titled "The Mosquito Bowl," the film follows four American college football stars who enlist in the Marines after the attack on Pearl Harbor. The official description notes the men prepare for the invasion of Okinawa and will play in a legendary game that, for many, "will be the last they ever play."
The movie is directed by Peter Berg, who co-wrote the script with Mark L. Smith. The cast includes Bill Skarsgård as Bob Bauman, Nicholas Galitzine as John McLaughry, Tom Francis as Dave Schreiner, and Ray Nicholson as Tony Butkovich.
A trailer released by Netflix reportedly draws comparisons to "All Quiet on the Western Front" and teases a story that uses sport to examine the brutal realities of war.
"The Mosquito Bowl" is scheduled to open in theaters on October 30, 2026. It will then become available for streaming on Netflix starting November 25 of that year.
