Ocarina Of Time Remake Leaked As 'Pretty Ambitious'
The long-rumored remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time won't be a simple copy-and-paste job, according to a new leak. Per ScreenRant, details from leaker 'Necro' Felipe suggest Nintendo is planning a significant overhaul.
The insider claims, via a translated tweet, that "a diversity of modernizations were applied, systems rethought, and the like." In a follow-up, Felipe called the project "a pretty ambitious remake," positioning it far from a one-to-one recreation.
This would place the Ocarina of Time remake closer to the category of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, which reimagined its source material, rather than the faithful visual update seen in Link's Awakening for Switch. The report speculates this could mean revamped combat, camera, and dungeon designs.
The alleged details are expected to be officially confirmed during a Nintendo Direct livestream scheduled for September 8, which will celebrate the Zelda series' 40th anniversary. A release date for the remake, currently slated for 2026, may also be revealed.
