Original Ratchet & Clank Game Coming to PlayStation Plus Later This Year
Sony has announced the original Ratchet & Clank will join the PS Plus Classics Catalogue later this year, ScreenRant reports. The action platformer from 2002 will be available to subscribers of the Premium tier of PlayStation's subscription service.
The news sparked excitement from fans online, with many sharing their hopes for the classic's return. One fan on Reddit expressed excitement for the original, calling a later remake "nowhere near as good." Another commenter hoped the addition might lead to the entire original trilogy becoming available.
While a specific release date was not provided beyond "later this year," the announcement marks a return for a title many consider a PlayStation 2 classic. The game was developed by Insomniac Games, the studio also behind the upcoming Marvel's Wolverine.
The only catch is access requires a PS Plus Premium subscription, Sony's highest service tier. For fans eager to revisit the early 2000s adventure, that might just be worth the price of admission.
