Pokémon Unite will shut down completely in March 2027

The Pokémon Company has confirmed that the free-to-play MOBA Pokémon Unite will be terminated next year. As reported by Kotaku, service and all updates will cease on March 23, 2027, at 00:00 UTC, making the game completely unplayable.

According to an official post on the game's site shared by Kotaku, all sales of the in-game currency, Aeos gems, were halted as of October 27. Players will be able to spend any remaining gems until the shutdown date. New Unite Club memberships and auto-renewals have also been suspended.

Polygon reports that a final update is scheduled for November 12, 2026. This update will kick off a special event where players can obtain various Unite licenses and Holowear items that have appeared in the game. It will also introduce a 'Library' feature.

The Library, per Kotaku, will allow players to view certain records and unlocked content after the game's service ends, but only if it is set up on a device before the March 23 deadline. Once servers go offline, battles and logins will no longer function.

The Pokémon Unite Aeos Crown 2027 tournament in Tokyo will still be held as planned before the shutdown. The Pokémon Company did not provide a reason for ending support for the game, which launched in 2021.
