PS5 titles Dawnwalker and Onimusha both smash the million-sales mark
Two major PlayStation 5 releases have each cleared a huge sales hurdle right out of the gate. Per Push Square, both "The Blood of Dawnwalker" and "Onimusha: Way of the Sword" have sold more than one million copies.
Capcom confirmed that its samurai action game, "Onimusha: Way of the Sword," hit that milestone in its first 24 hours available. The publisher shared celebratory art online and thanked players, noting the achievement pushed the entire franchise's lifetime sales to ten million units.
Meanwhile, the developer Rebel Wolves announced its RPG "The Blood of Dawnwalker" also passed one million copies sold. Its social media post came two days after launch, though it did not specify exactly when the sales target was met.
The two titles arrived within a day of each other, leading to questions about whether they would cannibalize each other's audience. The early sales figures suggest both have found substantial audiences despite the tight release window.
They lead a crowded September that also includes high-profile games like "Marvel's Wolverine" and "Silent Hill: Townfall." The full impact of the packed schedule on these other releases remains to be seen.
