Ratchet & Clank mobile shooter Rangers Rumble cancelled before global launch

PlayStation's free-to-play mobile experiment with Ratchet & Clank is shutting down before most players ever got a chance to try it. According to a report from Kotaku, Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble is being cancelled.

The multiplayer hero shooter, developed by OhBibi, will have its final update released and will be removed from digital storefronts this month. After that, the game's servers are scheduled to go offline permanently on May 1, 2027, per the developers.

VGC reports the title had previously seen a soft launch in limited regions, including the UK and Canada, but never received a full, worldwide release. A planned global launch date in October was previously scrapped.

As noted by Push Square, the cancellation arrives roughly twelve months after the project was first revealed to a mixed reception from fans hoping for a new core console title. The shutdown announcement has reportedly been met with online reactions from players lamenting that they never got to access the game.
