Rockstar is scrubbing the web of newly surfaced GTA 5 and 6 leaks
Rockstar Games' parent company is on the hunt. According to IGN, Take-Two Interactive has started taking down videos and posts that show off leaked Grand Theft Auto material from both GTA 5 and the upcoming GTA 6.
The files in question reportedly emerged online last week, but are said to originate from the massive 2022 hack that also gave us our first look at GTA 6. The newly surfaced assets include cut dialogue from GTA 5, which hints at different story outcomes, and details on a scrapped Liberty City expansion pack.
Also in the leak is an extremely early version of the map for Grand Theft Auto 6. Because this content was obtained illegally via the hack and not through official channels, Take-Two is moving to scrub it from the internet.
One content creator posted on X that their video, which covered a list of files and included one cut piece of GTA 5 dialogue, was taken down. The company's takedown efforts don't appear to be as widespread as they were for the 2022 GTA 6 footage leaks, but creators posting this material still risk copyright strikes.
With GTA 6's release just two months away, Rockstar's security is likely at its peak. The studio has been hit by multiple leaks over the last four years, and the finished game is now at risk of being spoiled before launch.
