Rumor Claims People Can Fly Working on Killzone Remake for Sony
A new Killzone project is reportedly in the earliest stages of development, and it's rumored to be a remake of an older game in the PlayStation-exclusive shooter series. According to a report from MP1st, as covered by Push Square, Guerrilla Games is said to be collaborating with a third-party studio on the project.
The rumor strongly suggests that studio is People Can Fly, the team behind Bulletstorm and Outriders. People Can Fly previously confirmed it is working on a prototype for a PlayStation 5 game based on a Sony IP, codenamed Project Delta. MP1st believes Project Delta is this Killzone remake.
Per the report, sources claim this remake was meant to be Guerrilla's next main focus after finishing work on Horizon Hunters Gathering. However, that game's reported retooling into a more traditional multiplayer effort may have altered plans. Despite being in very early development, the rumor suggests the Killzone project could be released before a potential Horizon 3.
The report speculates the remake would likely be based on the original PlayStation 2 title, though nothing has been confirmed. All details remain unverified by Sony or the studios involved.
