Sensor Tower Says GTA 6 Pre-Orders Near 8 Million with PS5 Leading
GTA 6 is racking up significant pre-purchase numbers, according to data from research firm Sensor Tower. Per GameSpot, the firm’s unofficial tracker has the title selling 7.71 million total units, generating roughly $751 million in gross revenue before its launch.
The sales split heavily favors Sony’s console, the report claims. Sensor Tower's data indicates 5.74 million of those pre-purchases were for the PlayStation 5 version.
While these figures are not official from Rockstar Games or its parent company Take-Two Interactive, they offer a glimpse into the massive early demand for the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto franchise. The data tracks sales made through various digital storefronts.
If accurate, the numbers suggest GTA 6 is on pace for a record-breaking launch when it finally arrives on the market.
