Street Fighter 6 Hitbox Fan Site Taken Down After Capcom Legal Letter

The fighting game community has lost a key training tool for Street Fighter 6. Kotaku reports that the popular resource site Ultimate Frame Data has removed all SF6 content after receiving a legal demand from Capcom.
The site's operator, known as MetalMusicMan, posted the takedown notice received from Capcom's legal team. The letter, per Kotaku, stated the site contained hitbox and collision data for Street Fighter 6 that is "not ordinarily visible or accessible through normal gameplay." Capcom requested the material be removed by October 30, 2026.
MetalMusicMan complied, posting on X that the removal was "Not my choice, sorry everyone." In fighting games, hitboxes define attack ranges and are invisible during normal play, often revealed through mods. The Capcom letter reportedly claimed it does not authorize the modding tools needed to obtain such data.
The move has reportedly left players baffled. According to Kotaku, the community is surprised Capcom, often seen as friendly to the fighting game scene, would act when a similar resource for Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. Ultimate remains online.
