The Rockford Files reboot with David Boreanaz gets post-NFL launch

NBC is giving its new Rockford Files a kickoff right after a big football game. According to TVLine, the series will first air on Saturday, January 2, right after the network's NFL coverage that day.
The show will then move to its normal Thursday night spot a few days later, on January 7.
The reboot, starring David Boreanaz, is described as a modern take on the James Garner classic. It follows a recently paroled James Rockford who resumes work as a private eye in Los Angeles, quickly finding trouble with cops and criminals.
The cast also features Michaela McManus, Ilfenesh Hadera, and Jacki Weaver. The project, from writer and executive producer Mike Daniels, was ordered to series back in May.
