Tom Tykwer-produced queer drama "I Rarely Wake Up Dreaming" lands sales agent

A queer drama from acclaimed producer Tom Tykwer is heading to the global market. Variety reports that France's Outplay Films has secured worldwide sales rights to the film, titled "I Rarely Wake Up Dreaming."

The project, which was selected for the main competition at the Locarno Film Festival, comes from director Isabelle Stever and writer Anna Melikova. It tracks the story of Olya and Oleh, a young Ukrainian couple navigating their relationship.

The film is produced by Tykwer and Uwe Schott through the Berlin-based X Filme Creative Pool. With Outplay now on board, international buyers will soon get a look at the Locarno contender.
