Twitch CEO Predicts GTA 6 Online Mode Could Arrive In 2027
Rockstar has so far only described Grand Theft Auto 6 as a 'single-player experience.' But Twitch CEO Dan Clancy thinks the multiplayer component is just a few years out.
In an interview with Bloomberg, as reported by IGN and summarized by GameSpot, Clancy suggested that fans can expect the GTA 6 online multiplayer mode to launch sometime in 2027.
While Rockstar has not officially announced an online mode for the upcoming title, the massive and enduring success of GTA Online makes the addition a near-certainty for the sequel.
In a separate report from GameSpot, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick commented on the platform strategy for Rockstar's games. Zelnick noted that the PC is becoming 'more and more important' for the company, per his remarks at a recent virtual shareholder meeting covered by GamesRadar.
GTA 6 is currently scheduled to launch this November, but only for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. A PC version is not planned for the initial release.
