Rockstar UK developers to vote on unionization ahead of GTA 6

Developers at GTA 6 studio Rockstar North in Edinburgh, Scotland, are set to vote on union recognition, per a report from GameSpot. This would mark a historic first for a major UK game studio.
The union, called IWGB Union at Rockstar, represents UK-based staff at the company. Rockstar North is the lead development team on the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6.
According to the report, negotiations between the union and Rockstar management have been ongoing for several months. The process culminated in the company agreeing to the vote, a significant step for labor organization in the video game industry.
If successful, the union would gain official recognition, giving it the legal right to collectively bargain on behalf of its members over workplace issues like pay and conditions. The vote outcome will determine the union's formal status.
