'Youth' starring Sharon Horgan renewed for season 2 at HBO

HBO is bringing back Sharon Horgan's comedy 'Youth' for another round. The Hollywood Reporter broke the news, confirming the renewal just one day after the show's first season wrapped up.

The series follows Horgan's character Alex, a 50-year-old divorcee navigating the chaos of dating, parenting a struggling young adult son, and her career. The finale left her at a personal and professional crossroads.

In a statement obtained by outlets, Horgan joked, "I'm so happy to get another opportunity to live out my emotional and biological crises on HBO. I can't think of a better platform to air my UTI problems on." She expressed gratitude for the audience response.

Amy Gravitt, HBO's head of comedy programming, praised the show in a statement reported by both THR and TVLine, saying Horgan created something that makes viewers "howl with laughter and with tears often in the same moment."

The show also features Rupert Friend, Sharlene Whyte, and Aran Murphy. Horgan serves as creator, writer, star, and an executive producer. She is joined in producing by Faye Dorn, Jim Kleverweis, and Dawn Shadforth.
