Zelda movie casts reveal full live-action Hyrule court

Nintendo and Sony's live-action The Legend of Zelda movie, slated for an April 2027 release, has assembled its Hylian cast. Per Polygon, director Wes Ball is shooting with live actors aiming for a "grounded" and "real" feel, eschewing full motion-capture CGI.

The two leads were officially confirmed last year. Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, 17, will play the hero Link. Bo Bragason, 22, takes on the role of Princess Zelda.

New casting details have emerged through reports. Australian actor Uli Latukefu has reportedly been cast as the villain Ganondorf. Deadline confirmed Dichen Lachman will play Impa, Zelda's bodyguard, a role hinted at in earlier set photos.

The royal family is taking shape. The late Sam Neill is reportedly playing the King of Hyrule, one of his final roles. Yvonne Strahovski is attached to play the Queen of Hyrule, Zelda's mother.

Lydia Peckham, who previously worked with Ball on Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, is also set for an undisclosed role, according to Deadline. Series creator Shigeru Miyamoto, who is producing, has said the film will be an original story drawing on four decades of game lore.
