Inde Navarrette gives an early taste of her Southern-accented Rogue

Inde Navarrette just offered a sneak peek at her version of Rogue's famous Southern drawl. In an interview with Canadian show Etalk, per The Hollywood Reporter, she was asked to deliver the character's signature line, 'sugar.'

Navarrette laughed and admitted she's still practicing. She then gave a quick sample of the line for the camera. The actress said she plans to work on the accent with Marvel's creative team.

She was officially cast as Rogue in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe X-Men reboot, which was announced at this year's D23 event. The film is scheduled for release on May 5, 2028, with Jake Schreier directing.

On a recent podcast, Navarrette expressed excitement about stepping into the role. She noted she aims to honor the source material while bringing her own interpretation to Anna Marie, Rogue's real name in the comics.

The star-studded cast also includes Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Christopher Abbott as Professor X, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Maya Boyd as Storm, Asa Germann as Angel, and Adam Driver as Mr. Sinister.
