History's greatest warriors, including Genghis Khan and Joan of Arc, are summoned by a shadowy organization to fight in a battle to the death. But unknown to their captors, the fighters have been plotting to turn the tables and dismantle the deadly enterprise from within.

The idea — a death tournament with historical figures secretly planning a rebellion — sounded cool, but people are tearing it apart. It’s getting slammed for being painfully unoriginal, with a story that just doesn’t work. Roxanne G.C. Brooks’s Cleopatra and the Joan of Arc character were specifically called out as low points. The only thing that got a shrug was the visual effects, but that wasn’t enough to save it.
The trend appears once there are a couple of scoring runs to compare.
