The evil Empire has fallen, and Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy. As the fledgling New Republic works to protect everything the Rebellion fought for, they have enlisted the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin and his young apprentice Grogu.

Grogu is the big winner here, with a lot of the praise centered on the little guy's humor and charm, which scores through the roof. The visuals and Ludwig Göransson's score also land well. The problem is that the core story of Din Djarin and Grogu hunting Imperial warlords for the New Republic feels painfully unoriginal and poorly paced to most viewers, which drags the whole thing down. Pedro Pascal's performance as the Mandalorian is solid, and Jeremy Allen White's Rotta gets a nice reception, but Jon Favreau's direction comes in for significant criticism. It's a mixed bag that leans positive if you're just here for the duo's dynamic.
