It mostly doesn't work. People thought the premise, where a grieving engineer reprograms an AI companion who then goes on a violent spree, felt both thin and unoriginal. The one consistent bright spot is Lily Sullivan, whose performance is singled out by many, even as the rest of the cast doesn't get the same praise. For a lot of viewers, director Kate Dolan's execution was the biggest letdown, sealing the film's fate as a forgettable thriller.
