Astartes II Trailer Confirms Deathwatch, Terminators, and December Release
Games Workshop has dropped a fresh trailer for Astartes II, the upcoming sequel to the fan-favorite Warhammer 40,000 animation, per IGN.
The new look confirms the series will feature the elite Deathwatch and heavily armored Terminator squads, all exploring a dark, claustrophobic environment that channels strong Space Hulk vibes. The footage shows a grizzled, unhelmeted veteran leading a squad through shadowy corridors.
In a post on the Warhammer Community site, the company stated the new animation will be "significantly longer" than the original short. It also clarified that a previous teaser released last year, which showcased large-scale battles against Tyranids and Orks, was not actual footage from the show.
Instead, that earlier preview was described as a series of scenes meant to depict the past experiences of the characters who will appear. The final story, they hinted, is something viewers can start piecing together from those clues.
Astartes II is scheduled to premiere this December exclusively on Warhammer+.
