Bethesda Plans Fallout 3 and New Vegas Remasters, Fallout 5
Bethesda is pushing the Fallout franchise into high gear with a slate of new projects, according to a report from Polygon. The company confirmed plans to update and re-release Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas for current gaming hardware.
These refreshed versions are part of a broader strategy to revive the series. The roadmap also includes Fallout 5, which the studio says is currently in its early stages of development.
Another project in the works is a new Fallout game being developed by Obsidian Entertainment, the studio behind New Vegas. Bethesda stated this summer that it has "multiple Fallout projects in active development right now."
The company also detailed a major expansion for Fallout 76 titled Raven Rock, scheduled for 2027. This update will serve as a narrative prequel to the events of Fallout 3. Bethesda plans to celebrate the franchise's 30th anniversary in 2027 with a live event in Washington, D.C.
