Bill Skarsgård is setting the record straight on superhero casting buzz. According to /Film, the actor addressed rumors he was in the running to play Professor X in Marvel's upcoming X-Men film, stating it "hasn't been close on a big [role]." The part ultimately went to Christopher Abbott.

During a podcast interview, Skarsgård shifted focus to a DC Comics character he'd love to play: John Constantine. He revealed he'd envisioned a project with his 'It' director Andy Muschietti, blending horror with superhero elements.

The outlet notes that a new film centered on the occult detective is currently in development at DC Studios, with Francis Galluppi attached to write the script. No casting decisions have been announced.

While fan-casting himself for the role, Skarsgård acknowledged the project is still in its formative phase. He expressed enthusiasm for the character's mix of cynicism and supernatural intrigue, a fit for his horror background.
