Reynolds, Jackman Rumored for Avengers 5 Writing Credits

The Writers Guild of America has finalized the main writing credits for Marvel's upcoming 'Avengers: Doomsday', per /Film. The official 'written by' attribution goes to longtime MCU scribe Stephen McFeely and 'Loki' creator Michael Waldron.
However, the massive production likely involved many more writers behind the scenes. A new rumor suggests two of the film's stars could receive recognition for their contributions.
According to a tip from a reliable Marvel source shared by /Film, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are being considered for some type of screenwriting credit on the project. Both actors star in the film as Deadpool and Wolverine, respectively.
Reynolds has co-writing credits on previous Deadpool films. The WGA's relatively new 'additional literary material' credit could be a path for such recognition, as it acknowledges writing work without guaranteeing any material made the final cut. The report notes 'Doomsday' may end up with several of these ALM credits.
Official credit confirmation will come when the film releases on December 18, 2026.
