Blizzard fires employee for using dev-only instakill cheat in World of Warcraft
A Blizzard employee has reportedly been shown the door after getting caught cheating in World of Warcraft. Per VGC, the staffer gave a group an "unfair advantage" by deploying a developer-only move that could kill all enemies instantly.
It's the kind of power trip that would make any raid leader jealous, but it's strictly against the rules for anyone not on the dev team. Blizzard clearly wasn't playing around when it came to enforcing its own policies.
The termination shows the company is willing to crack down hard, even on its own people, to maintain a level playing field in Azeroth. Consider it a stark reminder that cheat codes come with a very real cost.
